From-Sentence-to-Speech Presentation
The presenttion is made to force mainly adult students (teenagers under 18 can also be the target) to speak. They should be either beginner or elementary students who have just started learning English as a secondary language. The fisrt three slides of the presentation are sentences which are pronounced out loud with changed elements (they are marked with a colour)- the coloured elements (professions or adjectives, for instance) are to be changed for studentsī own ideas. Each student in a class gives his own idea until he / she runs out of known variants. The second part of the presentation (Slides 4 and 5) are a form of competition. Students do the same task but for a certain period of time (say, 3 - 5 minutes per round), but the fundamental rule says that they canīt repeat one anotherīs variants; the loser is the student who isnīt able to give a variant when time is up. Finally, the sixth slide is meant to let students hold a conversation in pairs - again they change coloured elements by the models of the slide and speak. Let me also add that the rukes of the whole activity can be altered to satisfy a teacherīs needs. In case of misunderstanding how to work with the presentation, consult me :)
