English powerpoint: Writing - My Voice & Vocabulary Writing - My Voice & Vocabulary

This an activity I did and it was a Big Success! Ensure students understand the vocab in the vocab bank and play 2 different versions of the same song. I choose the song, Hey Jude. I played a version by the Beatles and then ask the students to write down how the song makes them feel under "activity 1". I then followed this up by playing the same song, sung by a different singer - William Pickett. I then asked the students to choose a few words from the vocab bank to describe how this song made them feel. I would then ask how many different songs they listened to - they will probably say 2. I would then remind them that they actually listened to the same song, but sung by 2 different "artists." The point is - everyone can write about the same topic, but the readers will feel differently...you have a voice!
