English worksheet: Sports battleship Sports battleship

It´s a fun game related to sports and frequency expressions. This battleship game makes your students practice Yes/No questions at sports vocabulary and frequency adverbs. For this reason, there are sports and frequency expressions on the grid to be used as coordinates for each cell. For example, the first empty row: (cell #1) Soccer – Once a week, (cell #2) Soccer- Twice a week … The second row: (cell #1) Swimming - Once a week, (cell #2) Swimming - Twice a week … and so on. Before play begins, each player secretly arranges a number of ships on the grid. Each ship occupies a number of consecutive squares on the grid, arranged either horizontally or vertically. The number of squares for each ship has to be previously determined. He tries to hit the opponent´s ships by making a guess, e.g. " DO YOU PLAYDOCCER ONCE A WEEK?", "DO YOU GO SWIMMING EVERYDAY?" etc. The other player responds “No, I don’t” (miss) or “Yes, I do” (hit). When he asks a question, he puts an X (hit) or O (miss). The ship is sunk when all the squares of it have been hit, (by making correct guesses). The game ends when all of one player´s ships have been sunk.
