A good way to teach modals is through teaching its function.Students often get confused because of the different meanings for one modal. This handout concisely summarizes and provides example sentences for mostly all functions of modals. Activity: Cut up into cards. Ss put category at the top of their desk. Ss work in groups of 3/4 to match all three cards. Teacher can give Ss a copy of handout to check answers discuss with Ss.
