This is an assessment I desgined to use with my 5th and 6th grade public school students. It is loosely based on the level I already know why students to be at, thus can and should be altered to suit your needs accordingly. Section I deals with basic conversational skills/answering general questions about him/herself. Section II covers Speaking and Understand - Students should be asked to describe (using full sentences and a designated verb tense) each picture or the Teacher can describe a picture after which the student must choose the corresponding image. Section III deals with alphabetical order and reading comprehension (I usually have Students follow along while I read and then read outloud the sentences in bold).
