Present Simple song
PRESENTATINON OF THE PRESENT SIMPLE SONG:
Write personal pronouns I, YOU, HE, SHE, WE, YOU, THEY on the bord and put the verb flashcards : PLAY, KNOW, STUDY, SING, GET UP, BRUSH, TEACH.
1st listening. Two volunteers put the verbs in order next to the personal pronouns as they appear in the song.
2nd listening: 2 more volunteers put DO and DOES cards in front of the personal pronouns. Children can join in singing.
3rd listening: children get the song page, listen, sing and circle the verbs that get ending –s/-es.. They draw conclusion how to form present simple tense. The teacher can explain when do we add the ending –es, and when the ending –s.
PRACTICE
Give the children the song with no dos and doeses. They should put them on the right places Tell them they can hum the song if they are still not sure.
