English worksheet: Teenagers and TV Teenagers and TV

To start this lesson plan, I show the students a copy of a French TV programme and ask them to tell me what they like and dislike, so as to gather vocabulary on the different types of TV programmes. Then, I let them fill in the grid in which they have to match the names of the TV programmes with the different categories (of course, this grid is filled with French programmes and has to be adapted to the teacher´s country). Next, I have them do pairworks in which they ask each other about their TV habits. They then have to report to the class, using contrast and similarity structures. After that, they perform a roleplay in which they have to decide which programme they´re gonna watch tonight, according to their various tastes. The last document is a webquest about TV turnoff week. I also have a reading and writing test if anyone´s interested in that, as well as activities on an extract from Matilda by Roald Dahl.
