This ws worked well in my class. Students learn how to use ago both verbally and in the written form. Students answer an interview questionaire on how long ago did they do something and then there is a second page where they can ask their partner the same questions who also inturn practises stating using the past tense and ago. Students can then by chosen randomly to retell their answers without looking on their ws for reinforcement.
