Twitter
This a reading (taken from wikipedia) about the website Twitter. Then there is a prediction/listening exercise that involves watching the instructional video on using Twitter from twitter.com. Also included is a sample of possible ´tweets´ postings that you can use with students and put on a bulletin board or wall in the classroom - students can update their ´status´ everyday before/during/after class. I used this activity as part of a larger exploration of technology, social websites, etc. My students were eager to learn what Twitter is, and they also really enjoyed posting and sharing their new ´status´ everyday in class.
