English worksheet: Independence Day 1 Independence Day 1

This is part 1 of a worksheet about Independence Day. The first activity (Part A) is about brainstorming. First talk about holidays in whatever country you are in. Get ideas about what people do and what people eat on those days. Have students write down 4 holidays and then talk to 4 other students asking ´What do you do on *holiday*?´ and ´What do you eat on *holiday*?´ in order to fill in the chart. Then for Part B read the story and have students write the words in the blanks. The answers are America, religion, colonies, tax, July, Declaration, and letter. There are translations in Japanese for some of the words but please edit this as appropriate for your students.
