Reported Speech Speaking Cards
This is a game. First, cut the cards (there are 2 pages of them. One pack can be used for 2 - 4 students. The students take it in turns to take one card off the pile in the middle. That student reads the sentence at the top. The student to the left must report this sentence correctly using She/He said that... If the student is correct he/she keeps the card, but if he/she is incorrect, the next student in the circle has a chance to win the card. If no one says the correct sentence, the card goes to the bottom of the pack (or the read keeps the card). I found this game was an excellent way to build speed in reporting. Students went from being slow at the start to being rather quick by the end.
