English speaking cities
This mini project is a fun exercise to do towards the end of a semester. It last 3 or 4 lessons. The students get to work on the internet to research the information they need on their own english speaking city. I split my class into seven groups and gave each group their own city: San Francisco, New York, Sydney, Edinburgh, London, Johannesburg, Dublin etc. Each individual in each group had their own tasks and roles assigned.
At the end of the week (in the final lesson) each group presents on what they have put together as a group on a poster.
