English worksheet: Yes / No questions Yes / No questions

This is a work sheet made around yes/no questions, paying particular attention to "can you...?" and "do you know how to..?" questions. The first page is made up of statements such as "I want to go to the beach" which the students then have to change into questions of the form "Do you want to go to the beach?" It really is a very simple exercise, and it is good precisely because of this, showing students how easy it is to make yes/no questions. The second page contains a brief note about the difference between the questions "can you play tennis?" "do you know how to play tennis?" and "do you play tennis?" (The more natural, or at least common, question being "Do you play tennis?") The third page is the old battleships game, where students play one another, substituting pieced together sentences rather than the usual A1s or C3s we are used to. When I did this lesson it took about 40 minutes to complete.
