Friends season 1 episode 5 (3 of 3)
This activity concentrates on one sub-plot of the episode (featuring Ross and Rachelīs adventures in a laundrette). There are three worksheets for three clips: 10.02-13.00; 15.30-16.52; and 19.49-21.00. The page should be cut into slips of paper, each containing one line or event. The students put the slips of paper in the correct order.
I used this activity with a group of four students and a laptop. I let two of the students watch the clip (without sound), and the other two listen through headphones (without watching). The listeners discussed what they thought the characters were doing, and the watchers discussed what they thought the characters were saying. The listeners and watchers swapped, and I played the clip again. The students (working together) then attempted to put the slips of paper in the correct order. I played the clip a third time (with sound), while the students checked their answers.
