I used this activity with 1ºESO (12 year-olds) in order to prepare a Christmas card and write that letter inside. I worked very well with all my groups. After that, they prepared a Christmas card which we exchanged with kids from another high school in the region. I hope you like it, my experience has been very positive and I will be certaintly repeating the activity next year!!
