Vocabulary Football - Game worksheet

This is a fantastic game for the revision of vocabulary. My students really love this game! How to play Vocabulary Football: Prepare your football field: Print a folio and use the overhead projector (that’s how I play this game) or make a poster for the blackboard and laminate it. You need a “football”. For the projector you can easily take a coin. Devide your class into two teams. Decide which team gets which goal. Choose a thematic unit of which you want to repeat the vocabulary (or word field / or topic). The „ball“ is placed in the middle of the football field at the beginning of the game. Toss for which team is going to start. Ask the words. Correct answer: move the ball one position further into the direction of the other team’s goal. Then you have another go. Wrong answer: move the ball one position further to the opposite side. Now it’s the other team’ s turn. If a team shoots a goal, the ball is placed in the middle of the playing field again for a new start. You can use a black and white version if you want to print the game for each student´s folder. Then they can play it in small groups.
