English worksheet: Write an alibi Write an alibi

This is primarily a writing exercise. The story is that the principalīs laptop is stolen sometime during the school festival last Friday. Students must write an alibi. There are two versions enclosed. The large sheet (B4) is group work. Each student writes the alibi of the student sitting to their right making sure to answer the questions using the third person. The smaller sheet (B5) is a practice sheet for students to use the past continuous to write their own alibis. This activity was created for Japanese junior high school students. It was originally done over two class periods. Individual alibis (small sheet) was done in the last 15 minutes of one class. In the next class, students worked in groups to complete the large sheet. Towards the end of class, the teacher draws out of a box a time and a place. If a student doesnīt have an alibi for that time and place, then they are the thief.
