With the Olympics happening, its a great idea to get your students to write about sports. What better way to get reluctant writers practicing writing than to ask them to write about something interesting? And what better sport to write about than hockey! Students are asked to answer questions about various hockey terminology. Answers are provided and can be discussed orally in class before letting the students write the answers in their own words with complete sentences. The last question (who will win gold in menīs hockey) provides a good starting point for conversations.
