My students learned how to introduce their classmate. Then I separated them into groups of three. In these groups one of the students would act as a foreign friend from an English speaking country. Student A would introduce Student B to his/her foreign friend Student C. I also provided them with names of 5 famous foreign people (from English speaking countries) to use in their dialogue.
