Building up Vocabulary: Adverbs
This lesson and game give your students an opportunity to understand what adverbs are & how to form them, and to discover new adverbs & use then in a fun game.
Page one includes a brief description of what adverbs are and how to form them. There is also an exercise in using a thesaurus (could also be a whole-class brain-storming activitiy) to figure out some new adverbs that are synonyms to familiar adverbs. Page two is a verb-adverb battleship game to be plauyed in partners os by dividing the class into 2 teams. The idea is that students practice using the verb-adverb combination (from the battleship grid) in a sentence. Doing so attacks the other player (i.e. battleship!). HAVE FUN!!!
