Circus Story
Step 1. 3-5 minutes - students draw a main character (circus related) while listening to music. Circus music or other music can be played. Drawing only. Class discussion, introduction of characters. Optional: students should act out the character to music.
2. 3-5 minutes - children "brainstorm" the storyboard, drawing only. Music of choice. Class or partner discussion of story ideas.
3. 15 minutes - students quickly draw the storyboard in more detail, adding short sentences. Music of choice. Class or partner discussion of story ideas and text.
4. 30-90 minutes - students produce draft 1 of the book pages and draft 1 of the story text. Class or partner discussion of stroy ideas and text. Feedback.
5. Draft 2 - 30-90 minutes. Feedback
6. Draft 3 - final draft, laminating/publishing, display in the school
