Giving Directions: Places Around Town
READ THIS FIRST! The streets on the map are not labeled. Label them in this order: From North to South (horizontal streets): Wall Street, Main Street, Green Street. From West to East (vertical streets) 3rd Avenue, 4th Avenue, 5th Avenue. At the North part of the map there´s the clothes shop and ice cream shop. At the south part there´s the hospital and supermarket.
The worksheet contains a reading section, a writing section, and a listening section (read by the teacher). It worked great with my class of teenage esl students. I recommend covering the key vocabulary (corner, blocks, go straight, etc.) first. If you have small cars to give to the students to use when they do this activity, it helps a lot. Good luck!
