							The Lifeboat Paradox 
							The classic lifeboat paradox, with my own characters. I tried to balance the people as much as possible, and I am including the students themselves in the role of Captain, who also can go on the lifeboat or down with the ship.
The discussion questions should be done as a class. Also, for smaller classes (15 students or less) you can do a vote to see who stays and who goes. Sometime this has very surprising results! Then you can go through and ask students why they thought a particular character should stay or go.
As for "Da Shan," this is a famous Canadian TV personality here in China. If you teach in another country, you can put a well-known TV personality here instead.
