I made a simple PowerPoint file to go along with the worksheet first asking students to brainstorm different Korean festivals, describe them and say which ones they´ve been to as well. Then I showed them personal photos from different Korean festivals I´d been to myself to further motivate students to speak. Afterwards, I handed out the worksheet (when you print, only print the first two pages - somehow there´s a third page I couldn´t figure out how to delete because when I pressed ´backspace´ to get rid of it, it instead deleted the second page) and had a slide describing what they need to at least fill out in the worksheet and explained anything students didn´t understand. I gave lots of time for students to make their festival during a special 1.5 hr. class so you may want to stretch this to two 50-minute classes, or whatever your timeframe is at your school. Then students presented their festival ideas (either in pairs or small groups of 3). It went over fairly well although some students were, of course, too shy to want to volunteer to present. There were some pretty good ideas. Enjoy. Feel free to change the content however you choose.
