How to Order Fast Food - Listening Activity + Youtube Video!
The youtube for this activity is here, titled "How to Order Fast Food": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIXPSykQ5fk
For this activity, I first have students read through the sentences in teams, where they try to decide if it is the customer or the McDonald´s employee speaking. After that, teams try to put the mixed-up lines in a logical order.
Then students listen to the youtube video (sound only) to correct their answers. Students compare their answers with their team, and I check how they did before the second listen. On the second listen, students also watch the video, where the can hear and read the lines for their final self-corrections.
It isn´t my most glamorous worksheet, but it is a very successful activity. After this listening practice, I usually do a fluency role play where half the students are employees and half are customers. If you have some play money, toy foods, or other similar realia in the classroom, it is a smash hit.
