Summary Game for Edgar Allan Poe´s "The Raven"
Students will read or listen to Edgar Allan Poe and then play a game in which they are split into groups and have to put the events of the poem in order. The first team to put the strips of paper in order wins!
After this activity, you might want to have students write their own summary of the poem. I had them write a summary from the perspective of the raven, or from Lenore´s perspective (up in heaven)
The Simpsons parody of the poem (see YouTube) also helped my students´ understanding of the poem and increased their engagement dramatically.
