Job ads and candidate profiles - reading activity
Objetive: Review vocabulary related to the topic ‘occupations’, ‘simple present’ and ‘simple past’ tenses, and the use of the expression ‘would like’ to talk about preferences. Procedures: 1. Divide the class into groups of 4 and give 2 sheets of the job ads for each group. (1-2 minutes) 2. Ask students to read the ads and discuss within the group what they understood. (5 minutes) 3. Each group receives 1 set of the profiles and discusses which candidate is the best for each job offer. (10 minutes) 4. Each group chooses a profile, reads it aloud and shares its opinion about which job each candidate should get. The groups take turns so that everyone has the chance to share their points of view.(10 minutes)
