English worksheet: Descriptive Writing Composition Descriptive Writing Composition

This is a descriptive writing exercise. First is a "warm-up" involving a piece of fruit that each student has brought in (like a banana or orange). Students must use the 5 senses to describe their fruit. Then, they listen to "relaxing" music and must write about "surviving" on a desert island---what do they see? hear? touch? taste? smell? Get them to try and use as many ADJECTIVES as they can to describe things. You can also provide some example words for adjectives like TASTE = salty, tangy, spicy, sweet etc.
