English worksheet: The Crucible: Pre-Reading Discussion Questions The Crucible: Pre-Reading Discussion Questions

Prior to reading the play The Crucible, I give my English 11 students 10-15 minutes to individually answer these pre-reading questions. The questions focus on the themes and topics that are present in the text, such as adultery, witchcraft, etc. Once students have answered the questions we go through each and I call on random kids to read their responses. This often leads to a whole group discussion, and gets the class thinking about what they will be encountering in the play they are about to read. Enjoy!
