HIV AND AIDS
Do you know about AIDS? AIDS is a disease that you can get if certain cells in your body have been weakened.
Your body is made up of cells. Different cells do different things. Some cells fight disease, and protect you from becoming ill.
There is a tiny germ called HIV. It is a virus that weakens the body cells that fight disease. If a person is infected with HIV, his or her body is not protected against disease. We call this illness AIDS. There is no medicine that cures AIDS.
