Letter squares
2. The aim is for students (individually or as groups) to get as many words as possible from the square. With Elementary students, the words can have 2 letters or more. With Intermediate students, the minimum should be 4 tetters. A time limit can be set and points awarded for each word scored. To encourage longer words a progressive points system can be used, such as 1 point for words with 4 letters, 2 for 5 letters, 3 for 6 letters, and so on. More restrictive rules can also be introduced, for example not allowing students to use the same letter twice in the same word.
