Songs about California - a partner activity (with lyrics and answer key)
In this partner activity students will read lyrics of two songs ("Gone to California" and "Earthquakes and Sharks") to find out what they say about California (positive and negative aspects). They then exchange their information and speculate about the songsīs tune, melody, rhythm etc. (Here itīs useful to give the students some "language help" - useful vocabulary to talk about music can be found on this mind map I created: http://www.eslprintables.com/printable.asp?id=621758#thetop) The lesson can be concluded by listening to the songs and comparing them to the studentsī expectations.
