A reading exercise for older students to practice y as a vowel and c and g sounds
This is to consolidate a lesson on hard and soft c and g and practice a previous lesson on y as a vowel. The activity is based on the sound rule, but further down on pg 3 is an extension activity which I use for comprehension and listening, because I read the questions and they must find and underline the answer. Alternatively, you can just create your own questionnaire and turn the exercise into a quick easy reading by removing all the highlighting and underlining and replace the sound qs with the extension qs.Iīve sourced the site I found the article and itīs really good for funny quick stories: http://web.orange.co.uk/article/quirkies/Porsche_driver_gets_stuck_in_traffic
