Pair work speaking task: Adding emphasis using cleft sentences
Using the items from this substitution table, the students can create many different, semantically implausible sentences that later on their classmates are to correct. The additional advantage of the activity is that it is very enjoyable and funny, as the table is prepared in such a way that the Ss can form really hilarious combinations, like : "a cow smoked cigarettes". "the dog is eating a body of an alien".
