In My Opinion - Expressing Opinions
This can really expand an intermediate learner´s ability to express themselves more clearly. I also created it upon request to teach more debating skills, of which I feel this worksheet is a basic introduction.
This worksheet is an adjunct to my 6 VERB "In My Opinion" Lesson Plan. The 6 verbs are "I...: think, feel, believe, suspect, doubt, maintain and I´m convinced." After introducing these and ensuring students understand the subtle nuances of each, I hand out this page along with some contentious issue cards (You can have students work together to brainstorm a list of issues they´re interested about).
Best if students work in pairs or groups of three. They brainstorm Pro´s and Con´s, and then construct proper sentences using the verbs correctly.
While a bit challenging for some intermediate learners, others really enjoy ~ there are always many "ahhhh!´s".
Enjoy!
