Present Tense Story Telling, difference between -ed and -ing
Objectives of this lesson plan:
- Students will be able to distinguish between “ed” and “ing” adjectival endings. They will learn the difference between the one giving and the one receiving the emotion. Ex: “I am bored.” “This is boring.” Students will practice this function by creating short skits depicting giver/receiver relationships.
- Students will be able to describe objects using shape, color, size, material, and purpose. They will learn common adjectives and how to appropriately use them. The mystery object game will allow the students ample in-class practice.
- Students will be able to explain their feelings and emotions by using adjectival combinations with the preposition “about.” Ex: “I am angry about this issue.” Students will practice in pairs.
- Students will gain more familiarity with the present perfect tense in it’s simple and continuous forms. They will learn how and when to use the function through practice in pair dialogues.
