This passage is from a book by Emily Rodda and I have divided the first chapter into three parts This worksheet is part one. There is pre-reading vocabulary or post reading if the students are able to comprehend without this help. Then the students do a true /false activity followed by comprehension questions. In the end,there is a small exercise on the forms of verbs used and an exercise to revise these verbs. Partial key included.Hope it will be of use to you.
