| | practice linking words
This exercise is suitable for students who have started learning about basic linking words. The student matches up one phrase/word from each of three different column to form logical sentences; one column with phrases that start a sentence, one column with linking words, and one column with phrases that end a sentence. It works best if the teacher first talks about different linking words and how they are used, both these and others.
The exercise is meant to give an understanding as to how and when certain linking words are appropriate and can work as an introduction to improving already written simple texts. (In my group, for instance, they wrote letters which they then improved with linking words.)
