Students have to individually read the description of each of the 17 people. They then have to select 8 of those people to ´save´ in the bunker, as well as give their reasons. I like to then put the students in a group/groups and have them discuss their choices and come to a unanimous group decision. This activity has been incredibly effective for me with all kinds of group sizes and levels. The instructions can be adapted to suit the students´ needs, and the teacher´s preferences.
