This worksheet looks at how to form -ly adverbs from adjectives. It also looks at how to work out the spelling rules for different adjectival endings. Finally, it gives examples of how to vary the position of the adverb within the sentence, and allows the student to make changes to sentences provided for effect. I havenīt included the correct spellings as I assumed they are easy to work out. I found that my students knew the words but hadnīt thought about how to form them from the adjective. One option would be to ask students to look up the adjectives in the dictionary, and see if they can work out what the related adverbs are.
