Simple Spelling Tips
A simple guide to spelling using 3 strategies: Sounding it out, checking for rhymes, and mnemonics.
Three tips are provided, and then 3 practice activities for students. For the 1st practice activity, read 6 words and have the students sound it out. For the 2nd, have students find rhyming words that have the same spelling. For the last activity first read the words and have the students guess the spelling. Then have them turn over the page and note the errors. The class can then be jigsawed out to create a funny sentence to remember the spelling.
