10 pages with Useful Language for Discussion and Topics for Discussion worksheet

I use this activity in different ways. In the first one I get the 2 sets and give it to the students in two different piles. They get one card for discussion (the set in red) and then one card with the language they have to use. The other possible way is to print out the third set and give each sentence to a student. They have to read it and say if it is used to agree, disagree or give their opinions about a topic. I usually put all the sentences on the floor or with tape on the board. Then I divide the group in two and make them discuss only one topic, one disagreeing with the other group :-) It has helped a lot to make students use more than just "I agree" and "I disagree" :-)
