Role play: Columbus Goes Fund Raising (Card 2/2)

This is one of the two role cards (the Spanish Courts´ role card) in a historical role play. To be able to play the game, you need to download the other card, too (Columbus´ role card). Columbus wants to get funding for his voyage to India in 1492, so he pays a visit to the Spanish Queen. In this game your students will put themselves in the shoes of Christopher Columbus and Queen Isabella of Spain and act out what the explorer´s hearing at the Court might have looked like. There are helpful cues on the card to give the students ideas as to what to talk about. Also included is a short historical background, the text of which you can simplify to suit lower level students, as well. Enjoy! :)
