Teaching Methods, a Teacher Training Seminar
This seminar was presented to Ukrianian teachers to demystify the different approaches to language learning. Basics of Direct Method, Audio Lingual, Grammar Translation & Communicative Method are all given, including a way to present each of them.
This lesson plan includes a great communicative activity, which involves students finding partners and using basic beginner skills, such as introducing yourself and finding out about another person´s hobby, job, family, name, age, etc. This activity was created by another Peace Corps Volunteer and handed down year after year.
Even if you are not teaching teachers, it is a great resource for understanding each of the methods as they are simplified and clearly spelled out.
