2nd Form - Lesson n° 19 - Coping with Exams - Workshop Activity
Preparation:
* Copy the sheets to the number of groups, to add the factor of competetion to the activity.
* Cut the circles, strips and images in step 1, and shuffle them.
Step 1:
* Split the students into groups depending on the size of the class. It is best for each group to comprise 4 to 5 students.
* Ask each group to reorder the jumbled syllables to find 10 names of hormones/transmitters.
Step 2:
* Ask each group of tudents to write the correct name of the hormone/transmitter in front of each definition.
Step 3:
* Ask your students to guess the organ of secretion of each hormone/transmitter.
* Students might want to organize their answers in a tabular form.
* Dedicate some time to discuss the phenomenon of stress and the hormone Cortisol with your students. This will pave the way to the following step.
Step 4:
* Ask your students to match each effect to the right organ, and you can use this activity to generate more ideas about the dangers of stress.
A point is allocated to each correct answer.
