Stop the clock: A question and answer game to practise the past continuous based on an idea from ESLP by Stiliana Andreyeva Sevcan Uğurlu. First pupils answer the question “What were you doing at 10pm last night?” . They then go round asking the other pupils the same question until they find a person who matches the activiites in the table. The first t fill in his/her table shouts “STOP THE CLOCK”. To add a bit of fun and drama use one of the clocks from http://www.online-stopwatch.com/classroom-timers/ on your video projector. Have fun and get them practising.
