AN IMAGINARY PLANET - reading, speaking and writing project for intermediate students
This is a ws I made for my intermediate students (9-10 yrs old) with a reading text about an imaginary planet, a speaking task about Earth and a creative writing task about a planet they invent. For me its follow-up for a text about space and astronauts in Chatterbox 4, but it doesnt have to be linked to it. Theres also a matching ppt available....

SANTA VS. GRINCH - fun grammar worksheet
I needed a worksheet to review some grammar material at this Christmassy time of the year, so I decided to make it using Santa and the Grinch. The ws contains 3 tasks - comparing Santa and Grinch, filling in (with Past S.) a story about Santas bad day and guessing jobs the Grinch tried when he decided to be honest. I hope you find it useful! Happy...

tongue twisters and rhyme - WHY LEARN ENGLISH
Ive used this for a performance with my level 3 group who wanted to perform, but hated siging - its a cool rhythmic rhyme about why learn English and duelling with tongue twisters. We finished off by duelling with the audience, because they didnt want to sing (cool boys, you know), but the response was wonderful. It might come in handy, and its...

MARK TWAIN - the reading/writing adventure
This is a project Ive prepared for my advanced groups. It can be used before, while and after you read any work by M. Twain, or completely separate from his work (but wouldnt it be a shame not to share some of his work with sts). It requires reading (funny anecdotes, biography, wise quotes) with tasks and a writing task in the end, with teachers...

How babies are born and other questions? - project
This lesson plan and project were inspired by a forum post by yetigumboots about The Middle Wife. It has inspired a whole series of projects (this being the 1st one) based on language misunderstandings and kids special language use and understanding grown-up concepts. This project was created to sort of connect and intertwine several age group...

MY GREAT GIANT BOARD GAME no.1 - FANTASY CHALLENGE
This is my pet project (thanks, Isabelucha, for finally motivating me to put it in pc instead of only having the hand-made version)- its a giant board game, where the pieces are your students, and you can play it outdoors or indoors (outdoors is so much more fun). The game is based on various fantasy stories from books and movies, and consists of ...

THE SPIRIT LAKE SEA MONSTER - reading project
This is a reading project based on a legend about a monster I found on the internet. I linked it to the topic of myths and legends, so apart from the text, there are notes for teachers with tasks for sts and a follow-up project. I used it as follow-up for the movie The Water Horse (I strongly recommend the movie - a wonderful family story, fairly n...

Almost lover - lyrics worksheet
This is a wonderful song I did with my teenage students. They loved singing it, even though it feels kind of sad and melancholic. With my high school students, I had a discussion afterwards about the fine line between friendship and love, and about loving and being loved. All around, a very romantic lesson.
