Wanted Poster
I use this reading to teach students about describing things with modals/adverbs of uncertainty: about, nearly, almost, might, etc. Then, after the reading I give them their own pictures and tell them they have to write a wanted poster for their own criminal. Sequence Words With Pictures
I used this to introduce my students to writing a short story using the sequence words first, next, and last. Pablo Picasso
Reading from a Hispanic Heritage Month unit. During this reading I had my students recognize the fact that Pablo Picasso was somewhat privileged and lucky to have such supportive parents and that he was extremely sensitive to the world around him. Perhaps questions that provoke these observations should be added. Sorry I didnt add them already....

count vs. non count nouns
This is a great activity to get the students thinking about the differences between nouns. The chart activity I do is great for mixing various levels. I usually do this on a poster but it may be adapted for a worksheet which I have done as well.

Students get into the activity where they have to stand together in a group based on the types of transitions they are. You will need a fairly large group for this. Otherwise you may give more than one handout to a student to make up for the lack of people. They also really enjoyed the activity w...
