Small talk and meeting
This is a handout I use with my advanced kids. This is for small talk. It covers different ways to say things, and how to have a small polite conversation. Basicaly this is vocabular for advanced level. I usually go over the info with the students and then have them create a dialog using these phrases.

Tongue Twister board game
This is a fun game for students to play. In this game students roll the dice and move accordingly. Students must read or solve the problem onthe square they land on. If a student cannot read or solve the problem they must move back to thier last possition. This is great to get students speaking and having fun.

Asking Permission
This is a lesson for students to create questions, asking for permission. The beginning of the questions are given in the directions, and the endings are in a box for students to choose from. This is for pair work. Students must create, ask, answer, and write.

Making plans
Students will read the dialog and fill in the blanks to make plans. Students will make plans for seven days. Students practice listening, speaking, and writing in English. This activity can be done very fast. I usually only give my kids 5-7 minutes to work.

Event cards (Saying thank you)
These are just simple event cards. I use these for my Thank you lesson. As we know, when you learn a new language you will probably just use the same responce for a general situation. These cards have good and bad things on them. Students should say "Thank you." to their partner when their partner reads a good thing, and "That�s not very nice." ...

Getting to know you
Students ask thier partner the questions and write the answer. Great for practicing listening and taking notes. I do this the first day with the lowest grade. It gets them talking and listening.
