They�re supposed to write a modernized version of the Three Little Pigs story. I give them the first part for them to use as a model and they have to finish it. Checking the alphabet
This is a very simple set of cards with difficult names for students to practice spelling. I usually make them work in pairs, spelling the names to each other and then comparing what one student jotted down with what the other has in his/her card.

This is a picture of the rules to be followed at Nicholson�s Pub in London. I took the picture myself and I devised a couple of exercises to check for Comprehension. The fact that the picture is real makes it very attractive for adults.

This a two part reading I use a lot around Halloween. The vocab is challenging but we read aloud and slowly work out the meaning of the sentences in context. It�s fun and it tickles their brains!

Simple Present - Routine - A day in the life of a police officer
This starts with a basic introduction of the character and goes on with his daily routine. Students have to put the sentences in a logical order. There�s also some drilling -- rewriting -- and some creativity, as they have to make up what the character does at lunchtime.
